Wegovy Click Chart: Every Dose and What the Clicks Mean

Look at the carton first. The word FlexTouch is printed on the carton and on the pen, and it is the whole fork in the road. If it is there, your pen holds four weekly doses and has a dose selector and a dose counter window. If it is not, you have a single-dose pen and the whole pen is one dose.

Which one you get depends on your strength and your box, not only on your country. At most strengths Wegovy is a single-dose pen. At 2.4 mg there is also a four-dose FlexTouch, 9.6 mg in 3 mL at 3.2 mg/mL, and the US label carries it alongside the UK, Europe, Australia and Canada.

The two clicks most people are asking about belong to the single-dose pen, and they are not a dose measurement at all: click 1 is the injection starting, click 2 is the injection still going. On the FlexTouch pen the clicks are something else entirely, the dose selector turning, and the dose counter is what tells you your dose.

First, which Wegovy pen do you have?

Most of the confusion about Wegovy and clicks comes from this: Novo Nordisk sells Wegovy in two different devices, and almost everything written about “the Wegovy pen” online is written about the US one.

The 7.2 mg dose is the exception in both places: it is a single-dose pen in the US (Wegovy HD, FDA approved 19 March 2026) and a single-dose pen in the UK too (MHRA approved 14 April 2026).

This distinction matters because the advice on the two devices is opposite. On a single-dose pen there is genuinely nothing to set. On a FlexTouch pen there is, and you set it by reading the dose counter.

The one warning that matters: a count belongs to one pen

Every multi-dose semaglutide FlexTouch delivers about 0.75 mL at a full dose, whatever its strength, and a Wegovy FlexTouch is fixed to a single strength. So the same dial travel on a pen of a different concentration is a different dose. A count carried over from an Ozempic pen, or from a Wegovy pen at a different stage, is not your dose. Read the dose counter. The Wegovy FlexTouch instructions for use say: “Do not set the dose by counting the number of clicks you hear.”

Wegovy Dose Chart by Stage

This Wegovy click chart covers every pen strength, including the Wegovy 2.4 click chart most people are looking for: what a press, or a dial setting, means on each pen.

The weekly dose in the second column is the same wherever you are. What changes is the device that delivers it. On a single-dose pen the whole pen is one dose and there is no partial amount to measure. On a FlexTouch pen the cartridge holds four weekly doses, so you select one weekly dose, inject it, and the remaining three stay in the pen for the following weeks.

The 7.2 mg dose, sold in the US as Wegovy HD, is the newest maintenance step. The FDA approved it on March 19, 2026, and it reached US pharmacies that April as a single-dose pen. It is a step you add after at least four weeks at 2.4 mg, and it is meant for adults whose BMI was 30 or higher when treatment began. Worth knowing before you ask about it: altered skin sensation, called dysesthesia, showed up in 21.6% of people at 7.2 mg in the STEP UP trial, against 0.3% on placebo, so it is a real trade-off to talk through with your prescriber.

Wegovy dose schedule week by week

The standard Wegovy dose schedule climbs through five stages of about four weeks each: 0.25 mg for weeks 1-4, 0.5 mg for weeks 5-8, 1.0 mg for weeks 9-12, 1.7 mg for weeks 13-16, then 2.4 mg from week 17 onward as your maintenance dose. The sixth stage, 7.2 mg (Wegovy HD), sits outside the standard climb: it is an optional step some people add after at least four weeks at 2.4 mg.

Moving up about every four weeks is the typical pattern, not a race. Staying longer on a stage is common, and the pace is a call you make with your prescriber, usually based on how your stomach is handling each step.

What the clicks on a Wegovy pen mean

There are two sets of Wegovy clicks, on two different devices, and they mean opposite things. This is the single most confused thing about Wegovy, so here is each one on its own.

On the single-dose pen, the clicks are the injection, not a measurement. You press the pen firmly against your skin and keep the pressure on. You will hear two clicks, and the FDA label is specific about what each one means: click 1 is the injection starting, click 2 is the injection still going. Neither one is a dose, and neither one tells you it has finished. What tells you that is the yellow bar: keep the pen pressed against your skin until the yellow bar has stopped moving, which takes about 5 to 10 seconds. The pen is locked to its one dose, so there is nothing here that a count could change.

On the FlexTouch pen, the clicks are dial travel. Turning the dose selector makes the pen click, and the dose counter beside it shows what you have actually set. The selector clicks differently forwards, backwards and past your dose, so a count and the counter can come apart, and the counter is the one that is right. That is why Novo Nordisk’s instruction is to set the dose by the counter and the dose pointer.

So the one-line version for both pens: on a single-dose pen, watch the yellow bar. On a FlexTouch, read the dose counter.

On compounded semaglutide, you count units not clicks

Here’s where dose math actually comes in with semaglutide.

If you’re not using the brand pen, you likely have compounded semaglutide: a vial and an insulin syringe. There’s no pen and no clicks. You draw your dose in units on the syringe, and how many units equals your dose depends on the concentration your pharmacy mixed. Wegovy vs Ozempic: why the click question is different

Wegovy and Ozempic are the same drug, semaglutide, and how different their pens are depends on where you are.

In the US they are genuinely different devices: Ozempic is a dial pen you turn to select a dose, and Wegovy at most strengths is a single-dose pen with no selector. That is where the idea that “Wegovy has no click chart” comes from, and for the single-dose pen it is right.

Where you have a FlexTouch pen they are much more alike. Both are multi-dose dial pens with a dose counter. The difference is that one Ozempic pen, the 2 mg in 3 mL at 0.68 mg/mL, lets you select either 0.25 mg or 0.5 mg. The other two Ozempic pens set one dose each, and a Wegovy FlexTouch pen is fixed to one strength and simply holds four weeks of it.

That fixed strength is why a counted click chart exists for one Ozempic pen and not for any Wegovy pen. A clinic that wants a partial dose out of an Ozempic 1.34 mg/mL pen has a published count to work from; a Wegovy FlexTouch gives you its one strength, four times, and nobody has published a count for it.
